I had been working for close to a month, and had a pretty good rhythm going until this point. The fabric stopped me in my tracks. I had hand-sewn things before, but for this I was going to need a sewing machine. And help.

I enlisted my friend Donna, who became the first person in what eventually became a whole team of people helping me complete this project. We worked well together and finished it in no time.

All that was left were the fins. I used the same wire I had been using for the structure to design the shape of the fins, then attached electroluminescent wire to them for a neon effect.
